What
Everybody Should Know...
About How To Raise Funds For Your Organization
|
|
The 3 reasons people donate to a
fundraiser: |
|
A. The person (kid) they are
buying from (friend, relative or patriot). |
|
B. The purpose of their
donation ! (summer camp, uniforms, equipment, class party,
ect.) |
|
C. The product they are
buying. |
|
These are the reasons people
buy a fundraiser ! |
|
It does not matter if they
are buying teddy bears, gourmet coffee, Hey Dude beef jerky
or scented soy candles. They would like to buy a desired or
useful product at a descent or good price and you make 100%
profit. |
|
Have the participant (kid)
(A.) stress (B.). We have 3 things to sell ! |
|
The donator's own pride and
self-esteem motivates them to give in (A.) and (B.). A & B
are crucial ! |
|
We customize the flyer and
order form with the name of the group and purpose of the
donation. |
|
Presentation is one of
the vital parts of a Successful Fundraiser. |
|
Go to
Download Our Forms on
the home page and print the sales tracking sheet on
the back of the flyer on slick paper. This
makes a stunning presentation. Most groups have a
much higher sales success rate when using this
flyer and sales tracking sheet. |
|
We have created an area at the
bottom of the each flyer for the purpose of
the fundraiser (camp, uniforms, equipment, cancer
research, ect.). This is a big reason why people donate.
When you order the webmaster will customize
the flyer with the purpose of your fundraiser
here and email this to you. |
|
Each sales tracking sheet
keeps track of $120.00 if each customer buys only one
package. |

Product in Hand Selling
|
| This is our
recommend selling technique. We have tracked the difference
between the use of the presell form vs. our product in hand
selling (PIHS) technique. It has proven time and again that
the participants will sell more per person with the "product
in hand" technique. PIHS allows your
participants to make one stop with the product and carry
away cash, while accounting for the sale with our tracking
sheet. Our No money up front (30 day Purchase Order) and
free shipping allows your organization to make a decision on
how much money they need to raise and achieve their goal
easier and faster. |
|
Presell
Product |
| This is the
safer but less productive technique. This technique is
traditionally used by organizations across the globe. If you
have a less committed group this approach is highly
recommended. Use our sales tracking sheet to tally the preordered
sales to make your final purchase from Natural Fundraisers.
|
| These
tracking sheets are recommended for either selling
technique: |

| Not tracking
your product is the most crucial mistake people make. We
have developed these tracking sheets to help you and your
participants track the products sold. In the upper right
hand corner of the tracking sheet there is a place to mark
the units given to the participants when using the PIHS
selling technique. At the bottom of the sheet we have
created a slip that can be used in one of two ways. Either
way the product is sold the bottom will be used by the
volunteer, or fundraiser leader to track the number of units
the participant has sold, or is going to sell. |
| Bellow you
will find tips, tricks and techniques to help you and your
group present a well structured, successful and enjoyable
fundraising campaign. |
|
1. Determining Your Unique
Fundraising Needs |
 |
How much
money does your team/league need to raise? |
 |
When are you
planning on starting your fundraiser? |
 |
When do you
need your funds? |
 |
How many
participants do you think will be involved in the
fundraiser? |
 |
Do you have a
volunteer base to help organize and run the fundraiser?
|
 |
What selling
approach is your organization going to use? |
|
2. Planning your Campaign:
|
| Set an
objective |
|
 |
The objective
you set for your group should include a financial figure, as
well as a tangible element. For example, a group must raise
$3,000 to pay for new uniforms, as well as traveling costs
for a tournament or two. |
| Set a
deadline |
|
 |
Your campaign
should run a maximum length of 3-4 weeks. Keeping the
campaign short will keep your participants motivated and on
track. |
| Know your
group |
|
 |
Knowing how
many of your group members will be participating in the
fundraiser is important, since it will help you organize a
selling strategy. This will help determine which geographic
area to be covered by the participants. |
| Motivate your
group |
|
 |
It is
important to maintain close and constant contact with your
group members, and to motivate and encourage them
constantly. Being a positive role model for the group is
also important, not only in terms of how much money you
raise, but also in terms of how much time and effort you put
into your fundraiser to make it a success. |
|
3. Managing your Campaign: |
| Money
collections |
|
 |
Members
should collect money when they sell the product. This is a
huge advantage of our fundraiser. It makes for a quicker,
easier and more efficient fundraiser. We have created a
tracking sheet for you and the participant to tally the
money collected. This form can be used for both preordering
or product in hand selling techniques. |
| Tallying and
packing orders |
|
 |
It is a good
idea to select volunteers in advance to help with allotments
of the products to the children. Appoint a chairperson to
oversee and coordinate these volunteers. The chairperson and
each participant should ALWAYS check and double-check orders
for errors after receiving the money. |
|
4. Incentive Prizes:
|
| Not all
fundraising campaigns need additional incentives to motivate
the participants. If a baseball team needs to raise $75 per
player to be able to participate in a tournament, the
incentive is already there. With many campaigns, however,
this is not the case. The following are some additional
ideas intended to help motivate your participants. Our
fundraisers profits allow for you and your organization to
determine what will best fit your members motivation
incentives. An incentive may cost money, but this will
create higher sales per individual. |
| Individual
completion prizes: |
|
 |
Everyone who
sells a pre-determined minimum amount receives a cash prize,
movie tickets, new bike, a gift certificates to a local
establishment or any other prizes. |
| Best-seller
prizes: |
|
 |
Offer a prize
to the individual who raises the most money, or sells the
most units. |
| Draw prizes:
|
|
 |
Every
participant who sells a pre-determined minimum amount is
entered into a drawing for cash prizes or other merchandise.
Participants with more sales should receive more tickets for
the drawing. |
| Intangible
prizes: |
|
 |
These are
often the most effective for the participants, and as a
result, create the most incentive. For example, the teams
highest two sellers are allowed to throw pies at the coach.
Being creative in this aspect is important, and can help
make your activity a true success as well as your
fundraiser. |
